Two brothers stabbed to death in the Bronx

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Tragedy struck early Sunday morning when two brothers were found fatally stabbed on Stratford Avenue in the Bronx following an altercation with a group of men. Police identified one of the victims as Leider Guevara-Cubas, 27, who suffered from a stab wound to the abdomen. His 25-year-old brother, Ernesto Hector-Guevara, was stabbed in the chest.

The incident occurred shortly after the brothers attended a party on the street, resulting in a deadly dispute. Heartbroken family members and neighbors remember the siblings as hardworking and dedicated individuals. Merly Vasquez, the wife of Guevara-Cubas, described her husband as a devoted family man, emphasizing their journey to the United States from Peru two years ago in pursuit of a better life for their children.

Both brothers were employed in the construction industry, earning respect from their community for their work ethic and dependability. A local neighbor expressed sorrow over the incident, noting the brothers’ reliability, particularly in paying rent on time and contributing positively to their surroundings.

The grieving family is seeking assistance from the Peruvian Consulate to obtain emergency visas for the brothers’ parents, hoping they can be present during this devastating time.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbings. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are appealing for information that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
