Wife shot and killed at home in domestic dispute

HOUSTON, TX – Law enforcement officials have arrested a woman who allegedly shot and killed her wife during a dispute at their home in northeast Houston. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday at their residence in the 8600 block of Doris Oaks Circle, according to the Houston Police Department.

Authorities report that a woman, aged in her late 30s, dialed 911 around 1:20 a.m. to report that she had shot her spouse. On responding to the emergency call, Houston police officers were greeted by the wife at the door. She immediately surrendered and directed the officers to a bedroom where they discovered the body of her wife.

The investigation shows signs that the deceased woman had been shot once. There are also indications that the suspect tried to perform CPR until police arrived, as advised by the emergency dispatcher.

The exact cause of the couple’s altercation remains unclear. Lieutenant I. Izaguirre stated, “Talking with some of the neighbors, there have been a few disturbances out here. But as far as calls for service in the past, we haven’t had any calls for service at this residence.”

The police noted that no one other than the married couple was present at the residence during the incident.
