WEST HAVEN, UT – A woman and three young children were discovered dead in their vehicle in West Haven. All victims had apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
The shocking incident came to light after local authorities received a 911 call on Tuesday night. The caller, a nearby resident, reported finding four family members deceased. The victims, identified as a 32-year-old woman, a 4-year-old boy, a 2-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old girl were found lifeless by officers who responded to the call.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that gunshot wounds were present on all victims. However, SCSO Sgt. Sean Endsley stated that the official cause and manner of the deaths are yet to be determined.
Details about the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident remain unknown. Endsley refrained from disclosing whether a shooter was being sought or if the identity of the trigger-puller had been established. The relationship between the woman and the children has not been clarified by the officials.
Further, there is no information about the discovery of a weapon at the scene, and Endsley couldn’t confirm if the 911 caller had heard gunshots.
Authorities did not specify whether the vehicle was parked on a street, driveway, or in a garage. They only confirmed that the deceased woman was a resident of the neighborhood but did not comment on whether the crime scene was at her residence.
The gruesome case is under investigation by the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force and the Weber-Metro CSI. In a later statement, Endsley ensured that the incident did not pose any ongoing threat to public safety.
