Woman arrested for allegedly stabbing her grandpa in the face

A 22-year-old woman from Keithville, Louisiana, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her grandfather in the face during a domestic dispute over her hygiene habits. The incident occurred when her grandpa asked her to shower, leading to a heated argument that escalated into property damage and violence. The suspect, Carrington Harris, was apprehended by authorities after previously fleeing the scene. She now faces charges of domestic battery abuse and domestic battery abuse with a dangerous weapon.

According to a statement from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the dispute between Harris and her grandpa erupted when he requested that she take a shower. In response, Harris began damaging property inside the house and subsequently cut off the power from outside. Detectives reported that during the struggle to restrain her, Harris managed to escape and retrieve a knife from the kitchen, which she then used to stab her grandfather in the face.

After the altercation, Harris fled the scene and sought refuge in the nearby woods. Several hours later, authorities located her hiding behind a neighboring home and took her into custody. She has since been booked into the Caddo Correctional Center, with no bond set as of yet. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and it remains unclear what initially sparked the argument or if Harris has any prior history with law enforcement.

Meanwhile, Harris’ grandfather, who sustained a stab wound to the face, was immediately transported to Willis-Knighton South by Caddo Parish Fire District 6. As of Thursday morning, no updates regarding his condition have been provided by authorities. The severity of his injuries and his overall well-being remain a concern.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is working to gather all the necessary evidence and statements to determine the full extent of the incident. As the investigation progresses, more details may emerge, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the argument and subsequent violence.
