Woman killed and man injured in early morning club fight that spilled into the street

HOUSTON, TX – A chaotic scene unfolded early this morning in southwest Houston, culminating in a tragic shooting that left one woman dead. According to police, the incident began around 3 a.m. in the parking lot of Club Oregon on the Southwest Freeway.

The chaos started when gunfire erupted as a group attempted to flee the club. The vehicle, carrying four people, was struck multiple times. The driver, a man, was shot in the back and transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Tragically, a woman in her 30s, seated in the front passenger seat, died at the scene. The two backseat passengers were unharmed.

The car eventually stopped at a shopping center parking lot on South Gessner, where the occupants called 911. Investigators are piecing together the events that led to the shooting, which may have involved a fight between two women and their boyfriends. However, the exact circumstances remain unclear.

Sergeant Jimenez reported that several individuals have arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds, claiming to have been shot in the vicinity. Authorities are actively interviewing these individuals to gather more information.

In the aftermath, daylight revealed a parking lot at Club Oregon littered with beer cans and glass bottles. Police are working to determine whether the altercation began inside or outside the club.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to identify those responsible. They urge anyone with information to contact HPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers.

As the investigation continues, the community is left grappling with the senseless violence that disrupted what should have been a night of entertainment.
