CORAL GABLES, FL – A woman was miraculously rescued following an alarming incident that sent her Porsche SUV hanging from the third floor of a parking structure in Coral Gables, Florida, officials confirmed on Monday. The accident transpired at a parking garage on 1567 San Remo Avenue. The officials suspect that the driver accidentally pushed the accelerator, causing the unfortunate event.
The Coral Gables Fire Rescue reported that the impact of the abrupt acceleration teleported the SUV past a concrete barrier. Chopper 6’s aerial coverage captured the chilling sight of the white SUV precariously hanging over the edge of the garage, barely held up by a tree.
Despite the distressing predicament, the woman inside the vehicle maintained a calm demeanor, although she was visibly shaken by the extremity of the incident, as per Coral Gables Fire Rescue Division Chief Xavier Jones.
The woman received timely help from the rescue officials, who efficiently utilized ropes to extract her from the perilous position. Subsequently, she was transferred to a nearby hospital, where she is reported to be stable.
Katiana Polanco, an employee from a doctor’s office located across the street, recounted hearing the sound of the vehicle accelerating uncontrollably, followed by the crash, which she initially mistook for a collision between two vehicles.
To remove the vehicle safely, officials deployed a crane. As part of the procedure following such an incident, structural engineers were assigned to inspect the parking garage.
