The dismembered remains of a woman who went missing in Oregon City, Oregon, have been discovered at a landfill nearly 70 miles from her home. The Oregon City Police Department has identified the victim as 49-year-old Kara Rayleen Taylor, also known as Kara Sanders. Taylor was last seen on July 25 near the 200 block of Jefferson Street. She was temporarily staying with friends in Oregon City, having traveled from Pasco, Washington. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance raised suspicions, leading detectives to believe that Taylor met a violent end.
During the investigation, authorities learned that Taylor had been living with 47-year-old Jamon Peter Fritsch, who reported her missing on July 27. Based on the evidence gathered, police obtained an arrest warrant for Fritsch, who was taken into custody on August 7. He has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and second-degree corpse abuse. Initially, Fritsch’s bail was set at $1 million, but after being indicted on additional charges, he is now held without bail.
