FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — YouTuber and social media influencer Jack Doherty was jailed in Broward County after Fort Lauderdale police arrested him Friday on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge stemming from a reported physical dispute with a woman inside a residence.
Police said officers were called to the 1400 block of Southwest Fifth Court in the Riverside Park neighborhood shortly before noon on Sept. 4. Investigators said preliminary information indicated Doherty, 22, and a woman had been involved in a physical dispute inside the home. Police said the woman was not injured. Doherty was taken into custody and booked into the Broward County Main Jail.
The arrest marks another encounter with South Florida law enforcement for Doherty, a prominent online personality known for prank, stunt and livestream videos. Broward County jail information cited by local news organizations showed no listed bond Friday evening. A Local 10 report published Saturday said records showed Doherty was back in jail following the domestic battery arrest.
Authorities had not publicly released a detailed account of what led to the confrontation beyond describing it as a domestic dispute and physical encounter. The woman involved was not identified in police reports cited by local news outlets. The charge against Doherty is an allegation and has not been proven in court.
A source described as close to Doherty told TMZ that the influencer acted in self-defense. That claim has not been established by investigators or a court, and police had not publicly provided additional information addressing the assertion as of Saturday.
Doherty was previously arrested in Miami Beach in November 2025 after officers accused him of refusing repeated commands to leave a roadway while filming social media content. Police said a search during that arrest found part of a pill they identified as consistent with amphetamine and suspected marijuana cigarettes. He initially faced controlled-substance, marijuana possession and resisting charges.
Miami-Dade court records later showed that Doherty entered a drug pretrial diversion program. Reporting based on those records said the marijuana charge was dropped and the remaining case was handled through diversion rather than a criminal conviction. The earlier case is separate from the domestic battery allegation now pending in Broward County.
Doherty has built one of the larger audiences among stunt-oriented online creators. Recent reports put his YouTube following at more than 15 million subscribers, with millions more following him on other social media platforms. His videos frequently feature pranks, public stunts and highly produced livestream content.
The new case remained in its early stages Saturday. Authorities had not publicly announced a trial date or released a full arrest affidavit detailing the alleged contact. Available jail and police records showed Doherty was booked on the misdemeanor domestic battery charge as the Broward County case moved forward.
