Baby and two adults found dead in murder-suicide

COLUMBUS, OH – Tragedy struck an East Columbus community late Tuesday night, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, allegedly from a domestic dispute. The Columbus Police Department received a distress call around 11:20 PM, with the informant alleging that a male individual had shot his girlfriend and there might be an infant on the premises as well. On responding, officers arrived at a house situated in the 2900 block of East 12th Avenue.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts to communicate with anyone inside, officers were left with no choice but to break down the door. The scene that greeted them was grim, with a man, a woman, and an infant all fatally struck by bullets. The detectives on the case are treating the incident as a murder-suicide.

Police identified the male individual, 21-year-old Jaden Robinson, as a primary suspect. Investigators believe Robinson, likely the child’s father, shot both the female victim and the infant before ending his own life.

This incident marks the second suspected murder-suicide in a 24-hour time frame and the fourth in the previous three weeks in the Columbus region. A surge in domestic violence-related homicides has been noted recently, with this being the 19th such case this year.

Robinson was out on bail, awaiting trial for three weapon charges and one count of drug possession from an event in June of this year.

The local law enforcement officers and community advocates continue urging those entangled in domestic situations to seek assistance and settle disputes without resorting to violence.
