Gavin Newsom Under Pressure to Pick Woman of Color to Replace Kamala Harris in Senate

(ConservativeStar.com) – If Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) officially becomes vice president, then Governor Gavin Newsom (D) will have to appoint someone to fill out the remainder of her term who will have the advantage of being the incumbent in the 2022 election. And, the clamor has already begun pressuring him to name another woman of color to the post.

However, reports are circulating that the front runner is the current California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, who represents the Hispanic community in the state’s political landscape. Considering all the recent controversy over illegal aliens, in particular, and the Latino community in general, the governor might be swayed by the fact that recent Census Bureau estimates show them representing approximately 40% of the Golden State’s total population.

Regardless of who Newsom eventually chooses, it seems he is going to be pressured by all of the Leftists who value identity politics over all else. It shouldn’t matter what tone someone’s skin is. What should matter is their experience.
