House fire claims 6 lives, including 3 children

NEWNAN, GA – Six people, including three children, tragically lost their lives early Monday morning due to a devastating house fire occurring in the city of Newnan, Georgia. The incident, occurring at around 5 a.m., entailed a fire breaking out in the family home and rapidly expanding to engulf the entire residence, including the attic, according to reports from the Coweta County Fire Rescue.

At the time of the fire outbreak, 11 people were inside of the residence. Firefighters managed to rescue five individuals from the home, who were then immediately transported to a local hospital for immediate treatment, some with severe injuries. A firefighter also suffered minor injuries in the process of battling the blaze.

The ages of the deceased victims ranged from 6 to 70, according to the Coweta County Coroner’s Office. Three children, ages 6, 12, and 13, were among the victims who passed away in the fire. However, the identities of the victims have not yet been released.

In a statement, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office expressed deep condolences to the grieving families and friends and requested thoughts and prayers from the broader community for the victims.
