BRAINTREE, MA – An armed assailant reportedly stabbed four girls who are between the ages of 9 and 17. The suspect targeted the girls an unprovoked attack at an AMC movie theater in Braintree, Massachusetts. After fleeing the crime scene, he is believed to have conducted a similar assault at a McDonald’s restaurant in Plymouth.
The first attack unfolded around 6 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities report that the attacker bypassed the ticket counter and entered the theater without purchasing a ticket. The four girls were immediately rushed to local Boston-area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
After the initial assault at the theater, the assailant fled in a black SUV. Later, local authorities learned about a similar violent incident that took place at a McDonald’s restaurant in Plymouth. There, a 21-year-old female and a 29-year-old male also suffered stab wounds. They, too, were rushed to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening conditions.
The attacker led Massachusetts State Police on a car chase before finally crashing in Sandwich, south of Plymouth, where he was apprehended. Reports reveal that the suspect may also be linked to a murder investigation in Deep River, Connecticut.
The suspect’s name and a list of charges have yet to be released.
