Man caught beating his wife’s dog to death on camera

RICHMOND, TX – In a horrific display of animal cruelty, a man from Fort Bend County, Texas, was apprehended on Friday for allegedly beating his wife’s teacup Pomeranian to death. The crime is being treated as a third-degree felony as Pengfei Ji, 31, faces charges of animal cruelty.

Authorities said the crime transpired after Ji accused his wife of being more affectionate toward the dog than him. The couple’s home surveillance cameras purportedly recorded Ji grabbing the dog from the hind legs, swinging it overhead, and hurling it into a dog house.

The event took place around 6:20 p.m. on Friday in the Candela neighborhood, specifically in a house located on the 26000 block of Splendid Sunset Trail.

The couple immediately rushed the distraught animal to a veterinary clinic in Cinco Ranch, where the dog was ultimately declared dead. According to the Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, upon viewing the surveillance video on the wife’s phone, an agitated Ji deleted the video. As a result, authorities may also pin an evidence tampering charge on him.

The footage of the brutal act was disturbing, especially for a deputy who reviewed it and admitted wishing not to witness such atrocities.
