Man sends his kids outside the house before killing his wife

SANDY, UT – Investigators confirmed Wednesday that a Utah woman was murdered by her husband, who then took his own life. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, and the victims were identified as Stanley Siwale, 57, and Rebecca Siwale, 47. Their bodies were found in their residence located at 2118 E. Candle Spruce Cove in Sandy.

According to the police, the couple had been in an argument that prompted Stanley Siwale to send their three children, ages ranging between 11 to 17, outside the house. Moments after the children exited, they reported hearing loud noises that resembled explosions. The police were contacted around 9:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers entered the house based on information provided by the children and additional clues. The woman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, while the man succumbed to a single self-inflicted gunshot spark. The reason behind their argument is still under investigation. The police department stated that they had no previous records of domestic violence involving the couple.

Originally from Zambia, Rebecca worked as the Vice President and head of digital services at FLSmidth Inc., while Stanley was a former research assistant at Cleveland State University.

The Organization of Zambians Abroad posted a Facebook message reportedly from the Siwales’ children. In it, they expressed gratitude for the Sandy Police and Fire departments and sought to remember their parents for the lives they lived.
