ANAHEIM, CA – A California woman claims she was wrongfully detained at Disneyland after trying to bring her daughters into the park without purchasing tickets. The incident has sparked controversy and garnered widespread attention on social media.
Jessenia Diaz, 26, from Torrance, claims the situation has been misrepresented and is vowing to present her side of the story. Diaz has even hinted at potential legal action against Disneyland over the incident.
The altercation reportedly started when Diaz was stopped by park security, accused of attempting to pass her children off as under age 2 to avoid buying tickets, which led to her being handcuffed and escorted out by Anaheim police. In a viral video, Diaz’s daughters were seen clinging to her, crying and shouting for help in Spanish. Another clip captured her yelling expletives as officers led her away.
According to a Disneyland Resort spokesperson, Diaz had tried to enter without paying in the past and was uncooperative when approached by security, prompting involvement from the Anaheim Police Department. Officers explained that Diaz was arrested for trespassing but released with a citation. The Disneyland policy specifies that children under 3 can enter the park for free but must be accompanied by a ticketed guest.
Despite the public’s concern over her children’s well-being, Diaz assured followers that her daughters were safe and thanked them for their empathy.
As of Thursday night, Diaz has yet to release a detailed account of the Disneyland incident, leaving many awaiting further explanations for her actions and the subsequent arrest.
