Mom found dead inside a box in son’s apartment

BROOKLYN, NY – A grim discovery unfolded in a Brooklyn, New York apartment, where a 67-year-old woman was found dead with visible head trauma, her body placed inside a box. The woman’s son, who reportedly suffers from schizophrenia, confessed to assaulting his mother and has been taken into police custody, sources claim.

The distressing revelation occurred during a home visit by a social worker to their East Flatbush apartment around 12:15 pm on Friday. The woman’s remains were discovered in the box, and police were alerted to the scene.

A neighbor, initially accustomed to noise from the apartment, expressed shock upon learning of the incident. They stated, “They always make noise up there, so it was nothing unusual that I know of that happened.” The tragic discovery left the neighbor, like the community, deeply disturbed. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York will determine the precise cause of death, though initial findings indicate visible head trauma, according to police sources.

This tragic incident follows another violent event in the East Flatbush neighborhood, where a man and his stepson were fatally shot just days earlier. Marie Delille, the widow of one victim, expressed that the shooter’s death did not bring the justice she had hoped for.

As the community grapples with these distressing events, efforts are underway to ensure the safety and well-being of affected family members. The tragedy has left neighbors in shock, with one resident describing the scene as unforgettable. The suspected gunman in this incident, Jason Pass, 47, was later located and engaged in a confrontation with the police. He sustained injuries during the encounter and subsequently passed away in a hospital.
