Police investigate human remains found stuffed in multiple suitcases

Authorities in Delray Beach, Florida, are conducting an investigation to identify the human remains discovered inside three suitcases found floating in the Intracoastal Waterway. The shocking find was reported on Friday, July 21, when a concerned individual alerted the police about a suspicious item near Delray Public Beach. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that one of the suitcases contained human remains. Subsequently, two more suitcases were found at different locations along the waterway, all believed to contain remains from the same individual. Delray Beach detectives have classified the case as a homicide.

The victim is believed to be an adult female of either white or Hispanic descent. She’s described as middle-aged with brown hair, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall. Detectives have noted that she may have had tattooed eyebrows and was last seen wearing a floral tank top with a black undershirt and black mid-thigh shorts. The Delray Police Department is urging anyone with information about the crime to contact Detective Mike Liberta.

The discovery has left the Delray Beach community in shock and disbelief. Keenan Johnson, a marine dockhand, expressed his astonishment, stating that he initially thought the floating suitcases contained an endangered sea turtle.
