In a grim incident that has left a community reeling, a 33-year-old pregnant woman and her two-year-old son were found fatally shot in a residence in northern Idaho.
Responding to a distressing report of a death around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Shoshone County deputies discovered the tragic scene at the home. The victims were identified as Elizabeth Lawley and her toddler son, who both sustained gunshot wounds.
Initial findings from the sheriff’s office suggest that Lawley may have taken her son’s life before turning the weapon on herself. News outlets confirmed the revelation from Sheriff Holly Lindsey that Lawley was also expecting a child at the time.
