Teen Girl Killed, Another Critically Injured in Langley Park Shooting

Police are searching for a suspect and motive after two teenage girls were shot early Tuesday in Prince George’s County.

LANGLEY PARK, MD — One teenage girl was killed and another was critically injured in an early-morning shooting Tuesday in the Langley Park area of Prince George’s County, police said.

Prince George’s County police officers responded to the 8100 block of 15th Avenue at about 1:50 a.m. Nov. 3 after a report of a shooting. Officers found two teenage girls suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The Prince George’s County Police Department said homicide detectives are searching for the person or people responsible and working to determine what led to the shooting. Investigators had not announced a suspect or motive as of Tuesday evening. Police said their preliminary investigation indicated the shooting was not a random crime.

Authorities had not publicly identified either teenager. Police said the name of the girl who died would be released after her family had been given time to notify relatives. Officials also had not released the girls’ ages or disclosed whether they knew each other.

Police have provided few details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Investigators have not said where the girls were immediately before the gunfire, whether more than one person fired shots or what evidence detectives recovered at the scene. No arrest had been announced in the case.

The shooting came during a deadly stretch in Prince George’s County. County police reported seven homicides between Oct. 28 and Nov. 3, including two fatal shootings Tuesday. Six of the seven people killed during that period were shot, according to police figures reported by local news outlets.

The other fatal shooting Tuesday was reported later in the day in the Landover area, where officers found a man shot inside an apartment building. Police had not indicated that the Landover killing was connected to the Langley Park shooting involving the teenagers.

Before several of the recent killings were reported, Prince George’s County police said murders were down 33% compared with the same point in 2025 and 55% compared with the same point in 2024. Those figures did not include all of the homicides reported during the seven-day period ending Tuesday.

The Langley Park case remains under investigation by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit. Detectives were still working Tuesday to identify a suspect or suspects and establish a motive. Police listed the case as No. 26-0058632 and asked people with information to contact homicide investigators.
