Three family members charged with murdering, dismembering man

CAMDEN, NJ – A haunting murder case has emerged from Camden County, where prosecutors have charged three family members in connection with a chilling crime. The victim, a 48-year-old man, was last seen in June, and authorities have now unveiled disturbing details about the alleged involvement of a father, mother, and son in his death and subsequent dismemberment.

The quiet neighborhood on Baird Boulevard is now a focal point of a gruesome investigation. Harold Miller, the victim, was last seen in this area, prompting a community accustomed to tranquility to grapple with the shocking news.

Everton Thomas, his wife Sherri Parker, and their son Deshawn Thomas face serious charges. Everton is accused of first-degree murder, while Parker and Deshawn are charged with desecration of human remains. Surveillance footage and cellphone records placed Miller at the Thomas residence on June 12. Shortly after, a gunshot was captured on video, and Miller was never seen leaving the property.

Miller’s family reported him missing two days later. In the days that followed, Parker and Deshawn allegedly visited various stores, purchasing items such as cleaning supplies, contractor bags, and a chainsaw, according to court documents.

Witnesses have provided crucial testimonies. One individual living in the home claimed Deshawn was awakened by his father to assist in dismembering a body. Another witness reported a strong odor resembling a decomposing body and the sound of power tools emanating from the basement. Sherri Parker allegedly remarked, “A wife got to do what she got to do,” underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Authorities revealed that surveillance footage captured Everton and Deshawn making multiple trips to a nearby apartment complex, where they disposed of large trash bags in dumpsters. This revelation has left neighbors in shock, as they grapple with the horror unfolding in their community.

In a dramatic turn, Everton Thomas fled to Canada following a search warrant executed on June 20, which uncovered bloodstains at the residence. He was apprehended at the Port of Buffalo after re-entering the U.S.

Sherri Parker and Deshawn Thomas are currently held in local custody, with a court appearance scheduled for next week. Meanwhile, Everton awaits extradition from New York back to New Jersey, where he will face the charges.
