Two dead bodies found in motel murder-suicide

EMONT, IL – A deadly shooting broke out on Thursday at a motel in the southwest suburban area of Lemont. During the deadly incident, two people lost their lives as a result of fatal gunshot wounds. According to authorities, it appears to be a case of murder-suicide.

Local law enforcement arrived at the D-Lux Budget Motel, which is situated near 123rd and Archer. They showed up at the scene after they received a distress call from the motel at 9:30 am. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased woman who appeared to have been shot multiple times.

During a sweep of the nearby rooms, a 62-year-old man was also found dead inside the motel. Police say that the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Remarkably, the weapon linked to his death was the same firearm utilized in the woman’s murder.

While officers affirmed they do not perceive any continuous risk to the public, the motive for this grim incident remains obscure. Likewise, the relationship between the man and the woman. The local police department of Lemont is collaborating with the DuPage County Major Crimes Task Force for further investigation into the case.
