Uber Eats driver shot after delivering an order

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities are actively searching for a suspect accused of shooting an Uber Eats driver late Friday night while he was working. Houston Police Department Commander Kenneth Campbell disclosed that the incident occurred around 10 p.m. in an apartment complex on Imperial Valley Drive, where the Uber Eats driver had just finished delivering an order.

Upon completion of the delivery and while preparing to re-enter his car, the driver was unexpectedly greeted by the suspect, who shot him in the chest without warning. It was reported that the victim’s wife and their child were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Despite his injury, the driver managed to return to his car and drive a short distance down the street before encountering police officers, who immediately administered first aid by applying a chest seal to his wound.

The victim of the shooting was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

His wife and child, who were present in the car during the attack, remained physically unharmed. The Houston Police Department is investigating this deadly encounter as a potential robbery but hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a carjacking attempt. The identity and description of the suspect remain unknown at this time.
