Early Sunday morning, a person was fatally shot while riding their bike in Pittsburgh’s North Side. The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. on Federal Street at W. North Avenue.
The victim, a male, was found by responding officers lying on the street with a gunshot wound to his back. According to the police, the victim had a brief exchange with a male suspect just before the shooting took place.
The Mobile Crime Unit and Violent Crime Unit detectives are currently investigating the incident.
The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital and was in critical condition. However, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The police have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of their family.
