According to Ayala’s daughter, Sara Ayala, her father and his coworker had warned some individuals not to walk in the work area, which seemingly triggered the assault. Sara explained that her father was sucker punched and fell to the floor, with his coworker witnessing the attack. The extent of the injuries sustained by Carlos Ayala includes a fractured skull, brain swelling, and bleeding, which has resulted in memory loss.
Sara Ayala expressed her family’s anguish, stating that her father sometimes fails to recognize them and is resistant to physical contact due to his memory loss.
