Democratic Governor Facing Possible Impeachment

( – On November 23, 2020, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) was officially presented — albeit virtually — with the Founders Award at the Emmy Awards to the fawning praises of celebrities such as Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro, and Ben Stiller for his actions in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fast forward to February 15, 2021, and criticism, even calls for impeachment, abound because of the revelations that came out regarding his alleged cover-up of unnecessary deaths in nursing homes around the state.

During a conference call with Democratic lawmakers, secretary to the governor, Melissa DeRosa, confessed the administration refused to release accurate numbers on fatalities at these facilities for fear of a federal investigation. New York Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R) said he plans to ask the legislature to impeach him. An op-ed in the liberal Washington Post puts it like this “if true, the Cuomo administration authorized a cover-up of his activities to avoid political, and even legal, exposure.”

Ms. DeRosa tried her hardest to lay this at the feet of ex-President Donald Trump, claiming they were afraid of the “political football” he had made of the issue. But it seems even the Lefties are having trouble buying that excuse.
