Family of 4 dead after car crashes into bus stop

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – A horrific catastrophe in San Francisco claimed the lives of four family members, including a toddler and an infant, when a car plowed into a bus stop on Saturday. Two individuals were declared dead at the accident scene on Ulloa Street and Lenox Way, as confirmed by the San Francisco Police Department.

Three other victims were rushed to the hospital where a woman succumbed to her injuries. On Wednesday, the police confirmed the death of an infant in the hospital. Reports by media outlets identified the deceased as citizens of Brazil – Diego Cardoso de Oliveira, 40, his partner Matilde Ramos Pinto, 38, and their two young children, 1-year-old Joaquin, and the 6-month-old infant.

The motorist responsible for the tragic incident was apprehended on charges of felony vehicular manslaughter, felony reckless driving causing bodily injury, along with several other traffic violations, as per the police department. The suspect, who was also injured and hospitalized following the crash, has since been released from custody without formal charges.

Acknowledging the tragic loss, the San Francisco Police Department expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims, their close ones, and all who witnessed the horrifying event and assisted first responders.

The incident also prompted a statement from the Brazilian consulate in San Francisco. The consulate expressed its grave sorrow at the tragedy and extended sympathies to those affected. They also requested respect for the privacy of the individuals and families disrupted by the incident during this challenging time.
