On Monday morning, police responded to a welfare call at the Sherwani family’s residence in Allen, a city located approximately 30 miles north of Dallas. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of Farman Sherwani, Layla Sherwani, Mateen Sherwani (2), and Shaheen Sherwani (12). The tragic incident is believed to be a murder-suicide, with the drowning of their young daughter potentially playing a role.
The Islamic Association of Allen organized a prayer vigil to honor the memory of the deceased family members. The venue was filled with worshippers who came together to offer their condolences and support. Authorities were alerted to the situation after a resident had been locked out of the home for two hours and was unable to reach anyone inside.
