Four Lives Lost in Galena Park Murder-Suicide

A devastating murder-suicide in Galena Park, Texas, on Saturday night left four individuals dead and a young girl traumatized.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the incident began when a 12-year-old girl reported to the Galena Park Police Department that her mother’s boyfriend had sexually assaulted her and fatally shot people inside of the house. The girl and her 1-year-old niece fled to a neighbor’s house for help.

When authorities arrived at the residence, they discovered bodies of the three girls who had been shot and killed. One of the girls was identified as Sayuri Gill, 19, who was six months pregnant and the mother of the surviving 1-year-old. Melany Torres, 13, and a 14-year-old family friend were also victims of the shooting.

The homeowner’s 38-year-old boyfriend, who was not the father of any of the girls, was found dead in the primary bedroom.

According to Sheriff Gonzalez, the man argued with the girls before shooting the young victims. The 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by the man before he instructed her to flee for her safety. During the incident, the girls’ mother was not present.

The Galena Park community is mourning the loss of the four victims and offering support to the surviving family members. The Galena Park Police Department is currently investigating the incident and asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
