House party turns into deadly shooting

A house party in San Antonio took a tragic turn in the early hours of Saturday when a verbal dispute escalated into fatal violence. Local authorities are working to unravel the circumstances that led to this horrific event.

Police officers responded to a shooting report around midnight. On arrival, they found a 41-year-old man riddled with bullet wounds in his upper body. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the deceased as Mauricio Puente.

According to San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), both Puente and the 23-year-old suspect were present outside a residence on the 7100 block of Shady Grove Drive when the incident unfolded.

Police reports suggest that an argument broke out between the two men during the party. The situation took a dire turn when the younger man procured a handgun and fired multiple shots at Puente.

The 23-year-old man was taken into custody soon after the incident. During the preliminary investigation, authorities recovered a firearm, further corroborating the events that took place.

While the suspect is currently under detention and undergoing questioning, it remains uncertain whether he will face criminal charges in relation to this incident.
