Man Arrested For Drugging and Assaulting Young Girl After She Asked Him For a Cigarette

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has taken a Fort Walton Beach man into custody in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in Destin. Jack Colton, 58, of Beal Parkway, was charged with sexual assault of a victim between the ages of 12 and 18.

Deputies were able to locate Colton and make the arrest at around 2 a.m. this morning after the 12-year-old victim reported being drugged. According to the victim, Colton allegedly gave her crystal methamphetamine after she asked him for a cigarette.

She was later assaulted multiple times by the predatory man in a hotel room.

Due to the drug consumption and sexual assault, she was later taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

In addition to Colton’s arrest, OCSO personnel also seized potential evidence from the hotel room and a truck. Colton reportedly told investigators that he believed the victim was 23 years old.

Sheriff Eric Aden praised the quick response and dedication of OCSO personnel, saying, “The leadup to this arrest involved great teamwork by our patrol deputies, Criminal Investigations Division, Street Crimes, K9 and Drone Units.”
