Mitch McConnell Teases the Idea of More COVID Lockdowns

(ConservativeStar.com) – There was more bad news this week as a senior GOP senator warned that more lockdowns could be on the way if people don’t get vaccinated. It puts freedom-loving Americans in a very difficult position – whatever we do, we’re going to lose basic rights.

On July 20, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) gave a worrying briefing to reporters. Addressing the current spike in COVID-19 cases fueled by the Delta variant, McConnell warned that unless more people get the vaccine we could be facing a “situation in the fall that we don’t yearn for.” In other words, a return of the destructive lockdowns that have wiped out jobs and forced millions of people onto welfare.

McConnell told the media that 97% of those currently hospitalized with the novel coronavirus are unvaccinated, a pattern repeated in other countries. It seems the vaccine doesn’t guarantee immunity from the disease, but if you do get it you’re unlikely to suffer serious symptoms. However, that’s not the point.

The point is that a Republican – the party that’s supposed to protect our freedoms from government overreach – is telling us that if we don’t give up the right to decide what’s injected into our bodies, the government will take away our right to do business, travel, and socialize. It’s a grim choice, and one we shouldn’t be faced with.
