Woman stabbed to death while sitting at a picnic table

CONROE, TX – A shocking incident unfolded at a Conroe apartment complex as residents witnessed the unexpected stabbing death of a woman who was sitting at a picnic table on a Saturday afternoon. The horrifying event occurred around 12:30 p.m. when a witness heard the victim’s screams and saw emergency medical technicians (EMTs) attempting to help her. Sadly, the victim did not survive the violent attack.

The victim, identified as 52-year-old Talat Jehan Khan, succumbed to multiple stab wounds at the Alys Apartments on Mansions View Dr., as confirmed by Conroe police. According to a witness, Khan had been seated at the picnic table, conversing on the phone with her dog nearby when the assailant suddenly appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. The suspect quickly fled from the scene of the crime on foot.

Conroe police, aided by valuable witness descriptions of the suspect and his escape route, swiftly established a perimeter. They successfully located and detained the suspect a short distance away on Johnson-Martin Rd.

At this time, the suspect’s name has not been released, leaving the community in shock over the stabbing attack. Residents expressed their disbelief and sorrow over the senseless act of violence that robbed the victim of her life.
